Bio

In 1993 a friend took me climbing for the first time in Red Rocks, NV. I felt an immediate and powerful connection with the sport and it has been a dominant presence in my life since. In 1999, with my career as a Senior Financial Analyst at Boeing well underway, I began coaching climbers in my spare time at a local gym. The next year I started to compete at a national level, and in 2003 left Boeing for a life of climbing. Able to focus full-time on my sport, I decided to pursue training and coaching as a new career. I earned a Personal Trainer Certification from the American Council on Exercise, and then a National Coaching Accreditation from USA Climbing. As the owner of Brandi Proffitt Fitness, LLC, I now train and coach clients in Albuquerque, NM, offer national training camps and clinics, and routeset international climbing competitions.
